Alloy Wheel Refurbishment
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer Alloy Refurbishment at this time as we are concentrating on our detailing and paint protection work.
Diamond Cut Alloys:
In the factory, these alloys are painted and then “cut” again with a special machine to reveal the bare metal. A coat of lacquer is then applied to protect them. However, this type of finish is extremely difficult to repair. Small amounts of curb rash or small bits of corrosion can be repaired here at Code n Chips. Otherwise, for substantial corrosion, like in the images below, we recommend removing the corrosion and then painting the entire wheel. You will lose the “Diamond Cut” look, but you can choose the paint colour to suit your car and have brand new looking alloys.
Repair process:
For very small scuffs or scratches, we can repair the alloys whilst on the car. However, generally, it is easier to remove the alloy especially for significant painting.
At Code n Chips, we will lovingly spend 2 to 3 hours preparing each alloy, removing corrosion, blending scratches and filling deep cuts. After painting, the lacquer will need to cure over night before polishing.
We can complete 2 alloys in a day and a half.
If you need to use your car, we can fit your spare wheel and do each alloy individually.
